Our Story

Why Fat Dog?

Our Fat Dog story began with just that... a fat dog- our beautiful, happy and loyal english lab. She was our first dog and with us as our family grew in numbers over the years. She was an active dog, but, as our family grew, so did she. Our nephew started referring to her as 'Fat Dog' and the name stuck. Fat Dog's name was Riley and she responded excitedly to both names very well. When she passed, it was a fast bout of cancer and affected us greatly. We decided that her legacy would live on through our business name and that all of our other dogs will have their names in any future farmstead offering as we continue to grow. The love behind our business name is passed into the way we treat all of the animals and food we raise.
